How to survive an earthquake

Earthquake is most dangerous natural disasters which mainly happen to edges of tectonic plate but it can happen any place. Earthquake prediction is impossible but there are more chances of you survival if you advance prepare yourself for earthquake.

 

When you are in vehicle then follow below step

1.Stop car to a safe place:

If you are in vehicle then park your car to a nearest safe place where has no building, trees, electric lamp post or overpasses. If you park your car to building, trees, electric lamp post or overpasses then there has more chance of accident by collapsing buildings, trees, electric lamp post or overpasses on your car.

 

2.Stay in car until the earthquake is over:

Stay seated in car until the earthquake is over cause if you stay in car then you will be protected from other objected but if your car in garage then you should move your car at safe place as soon as possible but if don’t do then your car will not be able to protect you from concrete other side if you park your car multilevel parking then move your car at safe place if it’s possible for you and then you will be lucky cause multilevel parking to safe place is quite hardy task.

*Don’t go back quickly to your home cause after first attack the earthquake can return for second time so wait for some time and be sure everything is all right.

*If your home is damage by earthquake then power off your home’s electricity supply.

*After first earthquake is over it can be happen for second time which can be longer more than ten second and prediction is impossible when it will be happen again but you should be always alert.

3.Do every work very seriously:

After earth quick is over do every work very seriously and avoid roads, bridges and also robber which is damage by earthquake.

4.Don’t wait for longtime for relief:

You and your family should not wait in car for longtime for getting municipal relief like foods, water and supplies.

When you are in buildings

1.Strong yourself:

Strong yourself and go under furniture which can save you from concrete.

2. Protect your head and neck:

If you can’t go suddenly outside or under furniture then cover your head and neck and also upper body with some object which will save you from falling object and try to go under furniture.

3. Wait for sometime:

Don’t move until you are sure that earthquake is over cause earthquake can return for second time.

Slowly move:

After earthquake is gone slowly move to outside which is safe for you and your family too. A safe place can be large playground or a safe shelter.

 

4.Observe your house:

Try to observe your house with a touch light cause after earthquake is over there can be leakage to gas-line, water supply pipe or electricity-line. After be sure your house is fully safe you can turn on gas-line, water supply pipe or electricity-line and can return to your house.

5.Repair damage portion:

If you see any damage in house then first repair all damage and cleanup your house after that you can return to your house. But be sure your house is fully safe before active gas-line, water supply pipe or electricity-line.

6.Open cabinets slowly:

After earth quake is gone there may be everything in cabinets is fall in it and if you open your cabinets slowly then you will be able to protect your self and your valuable things very easily.

When you are in outside

1.Unless you are unsafe stay there where you are:

Stay there where you are unless you are unsafe and it will be very good work for surviving in an earthquake but if you feel unsafe then carefully leave this place and go there where are you safe and also don’t run or drive car away if you do then there has chance of serious injury with you.

2. Move away:

Move away from building, light-post, gas-line, electricity line or anything which can fall on you other side try to look around you if see holes then try to go away from this hole cause most of people die by falling in this hole and it happen for earthquake.

3.Seek shelter:

Seek shelter in an open place where you can feel safe. Try to avoid those place where rock and soil can fall on you and also try to avoid taking shelter on bridge even if the bridge is earthquake proof cause there are no full assurance that it will not be broken by earthquake.

 

4. Stay away:

Stay away from power line, gas line, electricity line or anything which is heavy and can fall on you other side don’t walk near to power line, gas line, electricity line or anything which is heavy. Don’t underestimate little glass which can injure your foot. Try to wear heavy shoes which will protect your feet.

 

5.Be aware:

Be aware when you are leaving your safe shelter if you see anyone injured then call for emergency services.

6.Wait for sometimes:

Wait for a moment or sometimes before you move after first earthquake cause after first earthquake it can be return for second times.

Preparation for an earthquake

1.Prepare some emergency supplies:

Prepare some emergency supplies which can be useful after earthquake. You should to gather medicines, dry foods, torch or flashlight, simple cloth, mobile with extra battery, money, blankets and your family must know about this stock.

2.Prepare a survival plan: 

Make a survival plan for your home. You family’s member should to know where have to go after earthquake, danger and safe zone of your home. Sudden plan where have to take shelter like under furniture and also etc information.

3. Learn some first aid treatment:

Learning some first aid treatment can save your family member if anyone is injured by earthquake. so you should take course of first aid which will be very helpful for you when it actually need.

4. learn how to turnoff:

Learning how to turnoff the water, the electricity and the gas will help you to protect your family if you can shutoff those service then there are very low chance of big accident. But after earthquake don’t try to switch on light cause if gas-line is leak then life taker dangerous situation can happen with you and family too.

 

5. keep dangerous object at safe place:

Keeping dangerous object knife at safe place will be safe for you and your family too. You can lock them in a secure cabinet or lower shelves as a result this object will not be able to fall on you and your family too but if you don’t do there there are hundred percent chance of serious accident with you and your family too.
