How to identify and prevent typhoid fever


Typhoid fever is serious life-threatening infection and bacterium salmonella typhi is responsible for this infection. The bacteria is transmitted from eating of foods or drinking of water by those person's stool or urine who are already infected. Typhoid fever is common to developing country where sanitary condition is not good and water is very rare or short supply. The main reason of typhoid happen when people travel internationally and their travel goes through developing country as a result their infection chance is increased more then hundred percent.



Identified the typhoid

1. Check fever:
The primary symptom of typhoid fever is high fever whose range will be one hundred three to one hundred four temperature of body and symptoms appear within one to three weeks.

2. Look additional symptoms:
Weakness, headache, stomach pain, diarrhea, loss appetite and vomiting are additional symptoms of typhoid fever. Someone can see rash, light pink color spot on body and slow heartbeats per-minute less than sixty.

3. Go to a physician:
If you are in high fever and feeling illness then immediately go to a physician. Remember it very care fully if you untreated yourself then are are hundred percent chance of your life threatening means death.

* If you have high fever and may have typhoid then don’t contact with people and also don’t serve food.
* When you are traveling then immediately contact with your embassy for recommended doctor.
* Doctor will diagnosis and confirm do you have typhoid or not through stool or blood sample.
* If in an area where doesn’t have lab or report will be delayed then doctor can examine your lover size and spleen. If doctor see large liver and spleen then this is positive sign of typhoid fever.
* Keep in mind that after diagnosis your stool and blood doctor can say about another fever or disease like dengue, cholera or malaria cause maximum symptoms is matched with typhoid fever.

Prevent typhoid

1. Eliminate unsafe food:
We know it very well that bacterium salmonella typhi is responsible for this fever which spread by infected person’s stool or urine as a result we should avoid outdoor expose food. If we are traveling an area where typhoid fever is common then we also should avoid there food if we love our life.

* Eat well cocked food and is served hot because heat kill bacteria
* Avoid unripe vegetable and fruit which has no peel like lettuce cause lettuce has lots of surface which is unclean able.
* If you want to eat fresh peel and clean fruits and vegetables then first wash your hand with hot soapy water and be sure you are not eating any peeling of it.

 
2. Be careful about drinking:
Be sure you are drinking water from clean and pure sources. When you are drink water then only drink bottle water if you can’t then boil water for one minute. If you have any confusion about bottle water then you can boil water for one minute. Generally carbonated water bottle is more safer than uncarbonated bottle water. Also try to avoid ice which may be created with contaminated water. If you want ice be sure this ice is created by bottle or boil water. Ice cream may be created by contaminated water also. So avoid ice cream for your life safety.

 
3. Avoid street vendors:
Try to avoid street vendor’s foods and vegetables cause street vendors foods and vegetables are unsafe and most of people said they feel sick after eating or drinking street vendor’s foods and vegetables.



4. Be a hygiene and cleanliness person:
You should often wash your hand with soap and water if you can’t then use sanitizer which has sixty percent alcohol and it’s kill most of germs or bacteria. Also you should not touch your face until you wash your hand. Avoid close contact with them who are sick now.

 
 
5. Remember one formula:
According to center of disease remember one formula very care fully “boil it, cook it, peel it or forget it” if you have confusion about some foods then recall this formula again “boil it, cook it, peel it or forget it” if you can follow this formula then you will never fall in sick.

6. Get vaccine:
If you are planing to travel developing country like Asia, Latin America or Africa then you should get typhoid vaccine before you leave. You can get vaccine from your doctor or go your nearest hospital. Before you get typhoid vaccine you should consult with your doctor if you before took typhoid vaccine and doctor will advice you do you need booster or not. Basically typhoid vaccine doesn’t work work well after few year if you get typhoid vaccine before. There are two types of typhoid vaccine are available one is capsule and other is injection. If you get injection then onetime injection will keep you safe for two years and it start work after two week from that day when you get injection but if you wanna get capsule then you have to get four capsule within eight days and after taking first capsule you have to wait one days for getting next capsule like this ways you have to get total 4 capsule in eight days and this capsule will keep you safe for five years. But this capsule start work after one week from that day when you finish getting capsule.

 

7. Restriction of vaccine:
You should vaccinate less than two years children by injection. Anyone can fall in sick for getting vaccine in time schedule. Allergic person also can sick for vaccine component. For capsule there are long list of restriction. Children less than six years, anyone who has allergic problem, got earlier two to three days antibiotic, HIV/Aids patient, low immune system or recent current illness. Your doctor will confirm you should you get vaccinate or not also do you have allergic or not.

8. Don’t fully depend on vaccine:
Vaccine prevent fifty to sixty percent typhoid but if you don’t care about taking foods or drinking water then you can also hunted by typhoid so you should take care of your eating and drinking. Taking caution of eating food and drinking will protect you from other disease like hepatitis A, cholera, diarrhea which is transmitted by food and drinks also.
